This is a great value and a great option for assisted living
I went in person to get a tour and [name removed] sat down with me and explained the services and the pricing. I was able to put both my parents in a one bedroom at a very good price.
The people are very nice to my parents. The food in the dining hall is very good and there are options to choose from each meal. I have been frustrated that my parents don't always go down to eat, but if they don't, food is taken to their room.
My parents have been there a couple of months already. My mom is starting to go out and do some of the activities. It seems like there's always something going on.

This is a great value and a great option for assisted living

Highly recommend
This place is like no other place. It is very friendly and the staff is knowledgeable in what they do. The director is very nice. She has been very helpful in the transitioning from home to senior living facility. The place is kept clean and orderly. Has a beauty shop in house. Very nice.

We picked this community, the proximity because of I would recommend! They are capable, compassionate,and professional. They offer activites such as; movies, and crafts. Each resident has individual needs and issues, the staff handles everything quite well and professional .

Different Levels of Dementia
Sometimes I feel like my loved one is being treated like the stepdaughter in Cinderella. I brought up some defects in attention to the staff, and it has helped somewhat but not entirely. People with dementia can be at all different levels, and Valley View's memory care groups them all into one. Which just doesn't work.

Lovely assisted living and memory care
They are very loving to the memory care patients and interact with them well. Improvements are maybe keeping patients clothes with their owners. (A small thing) but a bigger issue is letting them shower on their own, if they are able.

Great Place to Be
It is an awesome place. It has been a fantastic experience. They have been great with my loved one. The staff is very nice, including the nurses. They have been very helpful and was ready to answer any questions . that I had. The food looks good. It's great value for the money and is a very clean place.

Caring Staff and Nice Community
The aides and nurses were good. The management is a little on the weak side.
There was more fried food that I would like to have served, and it would be nice to have less of this. The desserts were readily available at lunch and dinners. It would be helpful to have more Jell-O as an option for dessert as well.
The intercom wasn't working when my loved ones first moved in, and the call buttons on the lanyards weren't all working during this move in time and my loved ones had to share one. The community is a little understaffed like a lot of business are nowadays.
The rooms, openness of the community, and the hallways were all beautiful. The community has a monthly residents' meeting to get feedback.

Highly recommend
The people at Valley View are just wonderful and his care has been great. They have all kinds of activities provided such as field trips, movies, exercise classes, etc. I have never eaten the food but the menus look great and he really enjoys the food. For me the value is certainly worth it, it is a life saver. In fact, my next move with probably be here I like it that much. I would highly recommend them to others looking.

Good Community
I like the community. They are friendly and active here. Some of the activities available for the residents include bingo, card games, exercises, and more for the residents to choose from.
The food is good for the residents.

Pleased with the Care
I'm very impressed with them. I've been pleasantly surprised by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and how well they have worked with us. We had actually visited Valley View several years ago, and I was not impressed with them whatsoever. This time, my experience and my opinion has been totally turned around. My understanding is they had a change of management since the time that we visited previously. My loved one likes the food. The menu is always posted, and I don't really hear complaints from the other residents either. I've been a little disappointed there aren't more activities. But they're trying, and I think they're doing the best they can at the moment. But overall I think it's a good value. Her little apartment is cute, and the people are friendly.

Very Bad Assisted Living Community
I would tell you not to put your loved ones here. The community ran out of medication for my loved one. twice during our stay here. We had trouble with the shower not working correctly. The community wouldn't help with bathing my loved one.

Liars
When we first signed up with them they promised us that they would never increase her rates, within 8 months they have tried to raise the rates twice. The rooms are minimum, and we would not recommend this community to others because they lie. We have not been able to see our loved one lately, but our issue we have is we know she is wearing nasty clothes and not the nice clothes she has. We wish that we were physically able to take her out ourselves

A great place for mom
It a very comfortable place. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They have done a very good job during the Corona virus and for several months they had no cases and have keep the residents safe. We chose this community, they offer the continuum of care so that my mom can age in place so she never needs move again. I would recommend this community to other families..

This establishment is lacking in all aspects of healthy living for aging adults. They do not care if the resident is diabetic or hypertensive as their food is so salty at times cannot be eaten and diabetics get exactly what everyone else gets including desert.
They do not treat residents fairly. Some get to do things others do not. family members of the residents are treated with complete disrespect and will not listen when complaints of the employees come in. They do not feel that foot care for a diabetic is essential medical care and the resident should not have their nails cut for months at a time. Do not come here.

Review of patient care
Valley view staff were so supportive to my family when my grandmother was passing away there and had Alzheimer's. No matter what she asked for they would go out of their way to make her happy in her last days. I would highly recommend this facility if they could no longer take care of a family member at home anymore. They are very compassionate to their patients and show great empathy and understanding with what the family is going through. I would like to thank them for the great care they gave my grandmother in her last week's here on earth

Visiting friends and family at Valley View
What a surprise I had while visiting Harlingen today. I planned to visit a long time friend, as I have done countless times before, who resides at Valley View Assisted Living. I was denied entry because management has installed a new automated sign-in system requiring multiple computer kiosk entries that makes signing in a chore, requires you to have a telephone and to disclose your number. I have an unpublished telephone number that I was unwillinging to enter into the automated Valley View system and was told by [name removed], the manager, that I could not see my friend. Valley View has definitely made it more difficult to visit residents and I that is a shame!
