She was assigned an \"ambassador\" the day she arrived and Elaine took her under her wing and made sure she knew where everything was and how everything ran. She made sure she was at meals and encouraged her to participate in activities. They would go for walks around the campus and spend a lot of time sitting in the gazebo with a couple other ladies who all made her feel welcome.
