Michelle Deitchman

Chief People Officer

Michelle is currently Chief People Officer at A Place for Mom, where she leads people strategy, organizational design, and employee experience to enable APFM’s mission of helping families make the best senior care decisions with confidence and compassion. She brings over 25 years of experience driving large-scale organizational change, innovation, and growth.

Before joining A Place for Mom, Michelle spent over two decades at The Hartford, where she held progressive HR leadership roles, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Head of HR for Property & Casualty, Risk Services, Strategy, and Innovation. There, she led enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, including the “One Hartford” cultural alignment strategy and international expansion efforts, while driving record-high engagement and retention across global teams. Earlier in her career, Michelle held leadership roles at Pratt & Whitney (now RTX) and United Way, where she developed a deep foundation in strategy, analytics, and organizational effectiveness.

Michelle holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an M.S. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Springfield College, and a B.A. in Psychology and International Business from Dickinson College.
